Ben Nye Banana Powder review - is it worth the hype ?

Hi girlies,

In my last post I shared with you my Christmas presents from this year and I have been playing around with all my latest beauty bits and bobs seeing what works with what etc. However, I have been loving nothing more than my Ben Nye Banana Powder.

This little baby is the crème de la crème of setting powders and while I know most people tend to just use this on their under eye, I find myself using it on my entire t-zone and I just cannot describe how amazing it is!

The coverage in this powder is indescribable! Before I used this I though MAC powders had coverage, well sorry MAC you haven't a look in with this beaut!! There is certainly a yellow tone, hence the 'banana' but it's just enough to counteract any dark circles and blemishes without making you look like you've dipped your face in custard!

I asked my mum was this expensive as obviously I don't want to know exactly how much one of my Christmas presents cost and while she said it was only on the pricier side, due to shipping costs etc., it will last a life time. I mean I can't even see a daily makeup user like me whittling my way through this monster any time soon!

So basically this powder was worth its wait in gold and is absolutely worth the hype as I'm so glad it hasn't let me down after I've wanted it since that infamous Kim K contouring and highlighting snap where her makeup artist reveals he uses it to set her under eye and nose.

In terms of availability, as mentioned above this was a Christmas present and I know it came from overseas however, I do know you can get a similar Ben Nye banana powder HERE on love-makeup.co.uk.

To finish, here is a rare selfie to show the product on the face!

Have you gotten any products lately that were worth the hype ? Or did they let you down ?
I'd love to know!
Until next time girlies.. Lola Rose xx

  4. You look fab and i'm so glad you like it!! For some reason when I had it I just couldn't get along with it- my foundation isn't even that pale but it would look yellowy and would darken my under eye concealer so I opted for Ben Nye's Neutral Set (transulecent shade) which is best for me.

Have to agree with you on the coverage - all Ben Nye's powders are fantastic for coverage. I love setting under eye concealer with it, with a normal beauty makeup sponge - just any old random ones (mine are from Primark) - it literally diminshes pores and makes it look smooth as! xx
